Dublin Zoo: This fantastic zoo is located inside the beautiful Phoenix Park. The zoo has a really fun replica of the African Plains where you and your family can try and spot some of the most beautiful creatures in the world. The zoo is most fun during a dry day. It has loads of exhibits and presentations about all of the interesting animals. The zoo is focused mainly on conservation and is a great way for you and your kids to learn about doing your part to help endangered species. After a visit to the zoo, you and your family can take your time wondering around the massive Phoenix Park. It is fun for people of all ages and is a great place to have a picnic. You can also rent bikes inside and explore the massive space that way.
St. Stephen’s Green: This is a great place for the whole family. Adults can enjoy the overall beauty of the place while chasing ducks or feeding the beautiful swans entertains children. There is also a children’s playground in the middle of the green that is perfect for younger kids. It is once again great place for a picnic and a great place for people watching as well. It can be reached just at the end of Grafton Street.
Dublinia: This is a recreation of medieval Viking Dublin and you and your kids will love exploring it. Kids will be mystified by the 900-year old skeleton and will love learning about the fascinating Viking history. You’re kids can also learn how to write their names in ancient runes and take it home as a one of a kind souvenir. Dublinia is fun for the whole family and offers interesting guidebooks on how and when medieval Dublin was established.
The Ark: This is a great venue for children’s entertainment. It is located in Temple Bar and has entertainment most days. Especially during the summer you and your kids can enjoy music, story telling or even a short play. Age ranges are specified for each show but it is a great way for you and your kids to experience the culture of Ireland. The theater opens onto Meeting House Square for outdoor performances in summer. A gallery and workshop space host ongoing activities throughout the year. So, no matter what time of year you are visiting, there is always some fun activity for you and your children to enjoy.
