Ireland Nightlife

Irish people love to have a good time, which is great for those of you visiting Dublin for the superb nightlife. There are loads of places with live music, awesome DJ’s and fun people. There are certain areas of Dublin that are best for nightlife (like the famous Temple Bar). But in general, Dublin is a pretty small city and easily walked so no matter where you are, there will be something fun to do around you.

Temple Bar is a great place to begin your night out. There are loads of bars and cafes and just simply walking down the street you are able to hear street music that is actually amazing. It is rather packed with tourists all year around, which can make it a fun place to meet new people from all over the world. The bars here are famous and old and great places to just experience. Take time to walk down the side streets of this old area of Ireland and check out some of the smaller places, as they tend to be less crowded but still really fun. From Temple Bar you can just walk a few blocks to S. Great St. George’s St. where there are loads of great places to get down.

Café en Seine
: This massive venue is filled with French decadence and fun as well. It has live DJ’s, who pack the place out and on Sunday afternoons and Monday nights there is live jazz. No matter what night of the week you go, there will always be fun to be had at Café en Seine.

Wine Cellar: This is a great place to begin your evening out if you are looking to take the night slow. This basement cellar is encased by loads of bottles of wine and offers great appetizers to go with your glass. It is small, cozy and not too busy but reasonably priced. It is perfect for good conversation. Located on Exchequer St. just off of S. Great St. George’s St. This area is also loaded with tons of other clubs and pubs to enjoy so it is a perfect central location to walk from.

Lillie’s Bordello: This club seems to be the popular place for celebrities to go when in Dublin, but perhaps the allure has worn off because it is easier for the less famous to get in these days. The club is always packed with great music and dancing. There is no cover early on in the week and they have fantastic cocktails. Great place for a girl’s night out, especially if you are ready to just have a good time and aren’t worried about all the other people trying their hardest to impress everyone else.

Rí-Rá: Located in the basement of The Globe, a great Dublin pub, this club offers great DJ’s that play every night of the week. The general atmosphere is dark yet energetic and the people are never too good to be there. Rather, the crowd at Rí-Rá’s is just generally down to have a good time. There is almost always a cover so don’t forget your cash. Check out the website to find out what is going on during your visit as themed nights are a favorite at this club.
