Florida Vacation

There are primarily three reasons people plan a Florida vacation: the beaches, the golf courses and the amusement parks. Although Florida has plenty of other offerings those are mostly afterthoughts to travelers who want to experience Florida at its finest. Countless palm trees, and what seems like limitless sunshine, greet visitors year-round making Florida an ideal place to visit during almost any season.

Beaches

No matter your primary reason for your trip, a Florida vacation would not be complete without a stop at one of Florida’s many beaches. Florida’s beaches are divided into primarily six regions with each region offering a distinctly different atmosphere. Those who want to hit the party scene will be at home along Miami’s popular strip or in Daytona Beach (which is also a hub for fans of the famous Daytona 500). More cultured beachgoers will enjoy soaking in the sun by day, and visiting the symphony or live theatre by evening in Naples Beach. Nature lovers can get up close and personal with dolphins, sea turtles and birds at either Clearwater Beach or Ameila Island. And those who want to enjoy kayaking on the water and exploring local trails on horseback will enjoy the offerings of St. Joseph Peninsula National Park.

Amusement Parks

Walt Disney World in Orlando offers families 22 Disney themed resorts, four amusement parks and two water parks. The Magic Kingdom closely resembles the original Disneyland Park and offers many of the classic rides and attractions. Epcot Center, offers a more hands on experience with science and technology in addition to giving guests an up close experience with various cultures from around the globe. Disney’s Hollywood Studios is the home of the television and movie studios used by Disney. Here attractions allow guests to pretend to star in their own movies or take a behind the scenes tour of production studios. Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park takes guest on animal safaris and allows them to learn more about exotic animals and their natural habitats.

Visiting Orlando in the dead heat of summer makes it almost necessary to spend at least one day of your Florida vacation at Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach—Disney’s two outdoor water parks that provide countless water rides including a water coaster and a pool where guests can swim and snorkel with live fish. Universal Studios also offers two theme parks and a water park.

Golf

Many people, head to Florida solely for the world class golf courses. The Doral Canyon Resort and Spa is home of the famous Blue Monster and the World Golf Championship. The Blue Monster’s well-known 18th hole was named one of the top 100 holes in the entire world by Golf magazine, and the course itself was named winner of the “Best for Buddy Trips” award in 2007. The Sawgrass Golf Resort and Spa is also another popular place to hit the green while in Florida. The Players Stadium, housed at this resort, has been named one of the top 80 courses in the world.
